With special guest Ryan Hannaford. When two great French vignerons come together to produce wine in California, it is often something special. Étienne de Montille and Brian Sieve of Domaine de Montille in Burgundy and Rodolphe Péters of Pierre Peters in Champagne searched for the perfect place to grow Burgundian varieties in California and found themselves drawn to the cool climate of the Santa Rita Hills. They founded Racines to represent the coming together of all that is wonderful about Burgundy, Champagne, and California. These wines show that the Santa Rita Hills AVA is an ideal place to make terroir driven, elegant, balanced wines in the new world.

We have been enamored by the de Montille wines for many years, and Pierre Peters is among the top Champagne houses in all of Champagne. We are delighted to have these brilliant winemakers bring their craft to California, and even more thrilled to get an allocation to share with you all at Mission Bay Wine & Cheese. Equally exciting is having Ryan Hannaford, the winemaker for Racines, with us for this very special evening. These wines are likely a new discovery for many, and positively one that you will return to again and again.
