Bursting with flavor and field-ripened to perfection, Jersey Tomatoes embody the joy of summer in the Garden State. To capture the peak of the harvest season, Ironbound is hosting a three-day celebration of Jersey’s most iconic fruit — beginning with a very special, tomato-focused dinner created by Chef Andrew Mercado, the master of primitive wood-fired cooking, in collaboration with Ironbound Chef-Farmer Alec Gioseffi.

Our evening begins with a gathering around the Motherfire — our Argentinian-inspired cooking hearth that sits at the heart of our Cider Garden, surrounded by flowers and aromatic botanicals. Guests will have a ring-side seat as our chefs roast, grill, and cook over open fire — transforming produce they’ve gathered from our fields and forest into a tasty selection of innovative small-bites.

We then move to our Ciderhouse tasting room for a five-course meal that is designed to showcase the range of colors and flavors represented in the 40+ tomato cultivars growing this year at Ironbound Farm. Our evening will wrap up with a special dessert course that demonstrates the remarkable culinary versatility of fresh, sun-ripened Jersey tomatoes.

Ironbound’s ciders, wines, and seltzers will be available for purchase throughout the evening, along with a selection of Ironbound cider cocktails prepared with seasonal botanicals grown on our farm.

Join us, along with farmers and chefs from around the state, for Festomato, the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey’s (NOFA-NJ) annual harvest festival that celebrates the history, cultivation, and enjoyment of Garden State tomatoes. We are honored to host this year’s Festomato, where we will be offering walking tours of Ironbound Farm and a special tasting room menu featuring heritage pork that’s been slow roasted at the Motherfire.
