Join The Fort Restaurant with a five-course wine pairing dinner featuring Fess Parker wines and our special host Spencer Shull, grandson of actor and vitner Fess Parker.
Fess Parker was known for his roles as Davey Crocket & Daniel Boon. In 1988 he bought 714 acres of land in what is known as Foxen Cannon Wine Trail in California. In 1991 Fess Parker Wines were exclusively served at Elizabeth Taylor's Wedding.
Taste your way through five of Fess Parkers most popular wines including a side by side tasting of two of Fess Parkers most delicious Pinot Noirs. Spencer will guide you through all five pairings while telling you the stories behind each wine and the interesting past of one of California's most famous wineries.
Menu and Wine Pairings:
First Course: Fall Salad - Spinach, Kale, Pear, goat cheese, candied walnuts, balsamic, & olive oil. Served with Pumpkin Walnut Muffins. Paired with Fess Parker, Ashley's Chardonnay.
Second Course: (2) Smoked Duck Crostini's topped with Apricot Bourbon Chutney. Paired with Fess Parker, Santa Rita Hills, Pinot Noir & Fess Parker, Sanford & Benedict, Pinot Noir.
Third Course: (2) Buffalo Empanadas with Tomatillo Sauce. Paired with Fess Parker, Santa Rita Hills, Pinot Noir & Fess Parker, Sanford & Benedict, Pinot Noir.
Fourth Course: Cottage Pie - Buffalo with a mirepoix, garlic, fresh herbs, beef stock & port wine reduction. Baked and topped with Mashed Potatoes. Paired with Fess Parker, The Big Easy.
Fifth Course: It's a surprise! Fall Apple Dessert paired with Fess Parker, Santa Barbara, Reisling.
