Warm days and cool nights mean you have a lot of great options for satisfying wines to sip on this September weekend. Here are five you can sample for free at the tasting table this Friday (3-7pm) and Saturday (noon-4pm):

Ercole Rosato Piemonte DOC Liter 2023 – Rosé from Barbera and Dolcetto full of roasted strawberry and rose petal aromas and flavors with a kick of rhubarb, tart lime and Saville orange flavors for extra interest. Dry, crisp, and ready to help you waste away an autumn day.

Walnut Block Sauvignon Blanc South Island 2023 – Prime vineyards in the Rapaura region of Marlborough's Wairau Valley. Certified organic farming. Pre-dawn harvesting. Cool fermentation in tank and 4 months on the lees for richness. A lot of work goes into this great value, refreshing, Sauvignon Blanc!

Antiquum Farm Pinot Noir Juel 2022 – The wine that gives a snapshot of Stephen Hagen’s entire vineyard and the magic generated by his Grazing-Based Viticulture approach. Bigger and richer than most Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs, and highly drinkable and delicious.

Ch Les Vieux Moulins Bordeaux Blaye Les Helices 2019 – Our idea of “Good Natural Wine” comes from a fourth generation winegrower on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Blending Merlot and Cabernet from a single Blaye village, this is a captivatingly delicious blend of power and purity (and ready now!).

Mentridana Garnacha Sierra De Gredos Las Uvas De La Ira 2022 – The Gredos signature blend of big body and somehow weightless mouthfeel is here, as is the spiced raspberry and red cherry fruit and another dollop of earth on the palate. Finishes with generous sweet fruit and a firm, powdered granite, grip. Yum.

Along with the wines, try a bite or two of our featured cheese of the week, Beehive Queen Bee Porcini. Start with a creamy cheddar made in rural Utah and then give it a rub with crushed dried porcini mushrooms imported from Italy. As the makers say, it’s “a total umami-bomb” and a great match for all the wines on the table. Come let us know which pairing you like best and discover something special to enjoy this weekend with family and friends!
