Flight Nights at Mission Bay - Failla Wines!
Owner and winemaker Ehren Jordan started Failla (FAY-la) in California in 1998, expanding into Oregon in 2001. He has a history of farming biodynamically and thoughtful stewardship of the land. Ehren loves to experiment with his favorite varietals - Syrah, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - coaxing out their various incarnations from different climates (cool, cooler, and coolest), different soil types, and rootstocks. Since cutting his teeth on Pinot Noir in 1999, Ehren has sought out enough unique, cool-climate Pinot Noir sources to satisfy his urge to tinker for years to come.
Ehren's viticultural training in France greatly influences his farming and winemaking choices, such that the eleven acres of Estate vineyards today produce Syrah, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir that capture the essence of California's coolest regions.
Syrah has long been near and dear to Ehren's heart - having been the first grapes he farmed and fermented when he worked for Cornas' Jean Luc Colombo in the early 1990’s.
We love these wines because they speak of the elegance possible from cooler Sonoma Coast vineyards. They showcase what is possible when a winemaker limits intervention and pays attention to all of the details that lead to grace, depth and deliciousness in your glass. We think you will enjoy them too!
