Chianti, Barolo, Brunello, Prosecco...chances are you're familiar with these Italian classics. But the country has so much more to offer! Travel to the south and you'll discover a world of delightful wines such as Vermentino, Falanghina, Nero d'Avola and Frappato, to name just a few! Please join us at Cafe Avellino on Friday, October 22 at 7pm for an Evening in Southern Italy presented by Maia Gosselin of Sip Wine Education. Maia will lead us as we sip a range of 5 wines from Sicily, Campania, Puglia and more. Varietals, history, regions and today's trends will all be covered. In addition we will sample delicious regional cuisine from owner Teresa Sirignano, who just happens to hail from Campania!
An evening of sipping, nibbling and learning...what's not to like? At the end of the evening we will raffle off a bottle of wine and a gift certificate to Cafe Avellino!
