What a great line-up for the this lovely early autumn weekend! The main event of our Friday (3-7pm) and Saturday (noon-4pm) free tastings are four stunning Burgundies from Pascal Maillard. Even if you think Burgundy isn’t your thing, come and try these delicious wines on sale a great (for Burgundy, at least) savings. And if you’re looking for a super-value house red…well, we’ve got one a terrific candidate on the table for that role, too. Join us to sample:

Maillard Chorey-les-Beaune Blanc 2020 – A rarely seen Chardonnay from the mainly red wine village of Chorey, this delivers big aromas and flavors of ripe pear, apple, white peach, hazelnut and tangy butter with a fresh and delicious finish.

Maillard Chorey-les-Beaune Rouge 2019 – A “seriously fun” Burgundy Pinot Noir that’s loaded with ripe strawberry and dark cherry fruit and layers of sweet spice, fresh earth and mocha complexity. In a “drink me now” style but will cellar well, too.

Maillard Beaune 1er Cru Greves 2019 – From one of Beaune’s most important 1er Cru sites, this is dark, savory, and powerful, with intense black fruit, spice and earth flavors and a fine, mouthfilling, finish.

Maillard Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Petites Lolieres 2019 – Remarkably good 1er Cru Burgundy from the lower slopes of Corton, the fresh red fruit gets plenty of support from fine, firm, tannins that propel an excellent and complex finish.

Romain Duvernay Costieres De Nimes Rouge 2020 – A great southern Rhone-style house red with a weighty and substantial mouthfeel and the flavors a delightful marriage of Grenache’s raspberry/cherry and Syrah’s blue/black fruit plus very Rhonish olive, herb, and pepper.

As always, we’ll have treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and best six/12 bottle savings on a mix/match basis on all wines open during the tastings. Join us!
