Celebrate Jacques Pépin’s 90th Birthday with Flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean at Dalida in the Presidio

Open since June 2023, Dalida is run by husband-wife duo Laura Ozyilmaz and Sayat Ozyilmaz, who were also behind Istanbul Modern. Hailing from Mexico and Turkey respectively, chefs Laura and Sayat met as students at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and went on to hone their craft at acclaimed restaurants Eleven Madison Park and Del Posto in NYC, as well as Saison and Mourad in San Francisco. Most recently, Chef Laura competed on Bravo’s Top Chef and Chefs Laura and Sayat were named 'Chefs of the Year' by San Francisco Magazine.

The evening begins on our beautiful front patio overlooking the San Francisco Bay, where guests will be welcomed with canapés and bubbles. Afterwards, we’ll gather inside for a seasonal, five-course family-style feast served with thoughtful beverage pairings. For the occasion, Chefs Laura and Sayat will honor Chef Pépin’s legacy by reimagining some of his classic recipes through an Eastern Mediterranean lens, using ingredients from Bay Area farmers and purveyors — a tribute both to Pépin’s emphasis on community and to Dalida’s ethos of breaking bread and sharing across the table.

Guests will receive a signed copy of The Art of Jacques Pepin.

A significant portion of the proceeds of the event will go to the Jacques Pépin Foundation, which supports community-based kitchens offering culinary training to adults facing high barriers to employment — including those impacted by the justice system, experiencing homelessness, in recovery, or otherwise underserved.
