Jacky Lorenzetti, founder of the Forcia real estate group and majority owner of Racing Metro 92 rugby team, has over the years expressed his love of Bordeaux wines with the purchase of several of the Medoc’s top classified Chateau, including Ch Pedesclaux in Pauillac, Ch Lafon Rochet and Ch Lilian Ladouys in St Estephe, as well as a half interest in Ch d’Issan of Margaux along with Emmanuel Cruse. Jacky, Françoise and Manon Lorenzetti work together, as a family, and the atmosphere they have created on their estates is both rigorous and convivial. They cultivate the love of work done well, making clear their respect for the land in their care and for the men who work it. Their values are clear, and are shared by everyone who works there. Ch Lafon Rochet les Pelerins 18 A pleasant and silky nose, with notes of melted fruits, a lovely aromatic freshness. A crunchy mouth, very supple and a good tannic structure. A fresh finale with a sourish return, blackcurrant, cedar, slightly spicy. 56% Cazbernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.
Ch Lafon Rochet 18 (94js) “Blackberry and blueberry on the nose, as well as dark-chocolate, mineral and earthy undertones. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Fleshy and savory texture with layers. Flavorful finish and beautiful length. Lovely ripe fruit in the center palate. Try after 2025.”
Ch Pedesclaux Fleur de Pedesclaux 11 Blossoming as soon as it is opened. With its richer concentration in merlot, this wine offers a softer, lighter touch with a warm and silky texture. Its fruity aromas are intense, crisp and pleasing on the palate. 100% Merlot.
Ch Pedesclaux 15 (94js) “Currants and blueberries with hints of flowers and perfume. Stones, too. Full body, a dense center palate, layers of ripe tannins and citrus rind. Layered and structured. Plush. A very serious wine from this estate. Best ever? We will see. Try in 2022.”
Ch d’Issan Blason d’Issan 18 (94js) “Blackberry, blueberry, graphite, clove, tobacco and mahogany on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Very tight and refined with a mineral finish. Pretty finesse and focus. Second wine. Better from 2024.”
Ch d’Issan 11 (90ws) “A gentle, elegant style, with a lightly dusty frame around the core of crushed plum and blackberry fruit. Shows a twinge of cocoa on the finish, with an echo of warm stone at the very end. Best from 2016 through 2024.”
Ch d’Issan 16 (96js) “The brightness and precision already comes through on the nose with floral, blackcurrant character. Full-bodied and very tight and creamy with polished tannins that last for minutes. Warm and intense. Needs four to five years to show all it has, yet already a beauty.”
