Local Event
We cordially invite you to join us for a special wine dinner featuring the illustrious wines of Bodega Lealtanza from the Rioja region in Spain on Thursday, April 20th at 6:30 p.m.
During this dinner, Bodega Lealtanza Expor Director Alberto Anoz Varea will walk diners through each wine pairing and share their knowledge and passion about these exquisite wines that are modern, yet deeply rooted and devoted to tradition.
Chef David Sierra in collaboration with Sommelier Gustavo Iniesta created a decadent tasting menu where each dish pairs perfectly with the featured Bodegas Lealtanza wine. Each course will be paired with a different Altanza wine selected by Schneider's to truly showcase the beauty and flavors of these velvety red wines.

About the Winery: Bodegas Altanza is located in Fuenmayor (Upper Rioja) and was founded in October 1998. It was created with a clear, well-defined purpose: making quality, livelier than classical Rioja wines, and marketing them at a fair price. We thought that the century-long winemaking tradition in our region was something we should be proud of and should be essentially preserved. However, national and foreign consumers, who were becoming more and more knowledgeable, were demanding wines with a different style, and modern requirements concerning hygiene, quality and efficiency were clearly indicating that new technologies should be present in the wine-making process from the very beginning.
About Schneider's: Schneider's turned 70 in 2019 and is more forward-thinking than ever. Founded by Abe Genderson and his father-in-law, Max Schneider, it's now a 4th generation family-run business, a treasured institution in the nation's capital and one of America’s leading purveyors and importers of fine wines and spirits. Our products are on the pulse of today’s trends and makers. The heart and soul of Schneider's is its historic storefront in Washington, DC, but there's more than meets the eye. Among other offerings, wine collectors come to Schneider's to sell their collections and purchase rare bottles, wedding couples come for expert beverage catering and customers across the country take advantage of a robust e-commerce site: cellar.com. Abe and Max would be proud.
We look forward to tasting, savoring and celebrating these world renowned wines with you on Friday, October 4th, 2024.
