Local Event
The New York Wine & Grape Foundation is proud to partner with the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Science and Finger Lakes Grape Program to present the three-day B.E.V. NY Conference (Business, Enology and Viticulture) from March 28th-30th, 2023 in Syracuse, NY. This event serves as the annual gathering of New York state’s grape and wine industry.
There is no doubt that the craft of wine growing, and wine making has been romanticized as a mysterious art that can capture the beauty and essence of a region in a bottle. While that may be true, it is also a serious business.
That fact has become more apparent as shifts in wine consumption in the United States are significantly impacting our industry. Consumer spending and travel patterns, interest in sustainably produced and packaged wines, in addition to climate change are all impacting the way we grow grapes, what grapes we grow, how we make wine, package wine, and ultimately how we talk about our wine to enthusiasts.
This year’s B.E.V. NY conference is a three-day event focused on what story the data can tell us about these changing influences, and how we can make the most of opportunities for New York wine growing and winemaking for the future.
In 2023, B.E.V. NY will be a hybrid conference with options for attendees to come in-person, to network with colleagues and industry professionals at our industry tradeshow. We have also created a virtual option for those that can't make it to Syracuse, but still want to tune in for sessions via the web. Seminars will take place over the course of the 3-day conference, with sessions each day dedicated to Business, Enology, and Viticulture topics.
