We continue our weekend focus on sips for springtime with a screaming bargain Prosecco (ignore the slightly flashed up bottle), a wild Australian rosé, snappy Sauvignon Blanc and more. Join us from noon-4pm on Saturday and try:
Brilla Prosecco Extra Dry – The embossed bottle and glittery label almost made us reject this untasted. But one sip and we were sold! Everything you hope for in a $20 Prosecco for $14.98.
Worlds Apart Rose McLaren Vale Everlasting Happiness 2024 – A very lively and alive blend of Touriga Naçional and Syrah. Bursting with real strawberry/cranberry fruit and a gush of watermelon from right down near the rind and finishes with sneakily persistent fruit flavors.
Mokoroa Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2022 - Very much a drinker’s Sauvignon Blanc.. There’s plenty of tropical fruit, citrus and cut grass aroma here and intense pink grapefruit, lime and lemon fruit on a rounded, not sharp, palate.
Dom De La Beche Morgon Cuvee VV 2022 - The perfect spring wine with both the light feel for sunshine sipping and the deep/velvet texture to shine at a BBQ. Crazy low price, too
Pierre Jean Villa Syrah 2023 – This carries a simple “Vin de France” appellation and is priced like it. But until 2018 these vines were legally St. Joseph. Put that on the label and this rich, velvety and savory Syrah becomes 50% more expensive. Really, really, good.
And we’ll continue featuring our newest Catalan cheese! Sant Gil D’Albió Garrotxa is so popular, it’s hard to believe that this style was nearly extinct until revived in the 1980s. A cakey, semi-firm, goat’s milk cheese, it serves up big flavors of hazelnut, white pepper and hearth with the ray mold rind adding woodsy accents.
Plenty of new tastes to experience and favorites to find this Saturday from noon-4pm. Come on by!
