Artist Judy Bjorling will be at Gard Vintners Woodinville to talk about her artwork hanging in our tasting room and to do a demonstration!

"In grade school I became fascinated with portraits; often (in those classes where I felt proficient), drawing portraits of my classmates. Years later, I am exploring the use of surface texture and collage using handmade decorative papers and papers I have dyed or marbled or printed along with other materials to add layers of shallow depth to my figurative works. I try to integrate three-dimensional figures into an almost-finished, mixed-media abstract painting, adjusting both the figure and the painting until I think one could not exist without the other. People often ask how I do this type of work. Interested? Come watch from 12 -3 PM, Sunday, October 8 at Gard Winery. I will create a portrait into an unlikely abstract background using a variety of media with a live model as a subject. All ages are welcome." -Judy Bjorling
