This Valentine's Day, bring your date to the Oak Street Mansion for some art and wine!

TerraVox will be pairing their wines to the Kansas City Art Institute's current display of artwork at the historic Oak Street Mansion!

We'll start with a welcome glass of TerraVox's famous PetNat wine while guests mingle by the fire and enjoy the delicious spread created by our local chef. Then we'll lead you on a tour of the art in the Mansion, where TerraVox Sommeliers will pair the artwork with their wines and the artists themselves will explain about their pieces. We'll give you time to enjoy the pairing and ask the artists any questions. We'll finish the evening with a some delicious dessert from Chef Neller and then leave you to enjoy the rest of your evening at the Oak Street Mansion!

One ticket is good for two people! Each ticket includes a double-occupancy room at Oak Street Mansion, all food, drinks, and events for two!

Check-in starts at 4pm and Check-out is at 10am. We'll get the festivities started at 6pm, to give those coming from work time to check in and/or give everyone some time to enjoy the Nelson Atkins Art Museum and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, which are both only one block away!

About the Art

The Kansas City Art Institute is a private art & design college located next door to the Oak Street Mansion. KCAI curates the artwork on our walls at both the Oak Street Mansion and our sister property, Southmoreland on the Plaza. Notable names associated with the Kansas City Art Institute include Walt Disney, who took Saturday classes here as a child; painter Thomas Hart Benton, who taught here from 1935 to 1941; multimedia artist Robert Rauschenberg, who studied fashion design at KCAI; sculptor, conceptual artist, and writer Robert Morris; celebrated, present-day performance artist, noted fabric sculptor Nick Cave, and the list goes on. Today, KCAI is an impressive reflection of its 137-year history and the community in which it evolved. The artwork on display at the mansion is a mix of student, faculty, and alumni pieces.

About the Wine

TerraVox is a 100% estate grown vineyard & winery located in the heart of the Midwest, in the very north of Kansas City. They are dedicated to cultivating American Heritage Grapes, an effort that will revive the great possibilities of North America’s native grape varieties. They focus on producing award-winning, food-friendly, dry style wines.

"[When] you taste a wine, you can say to yourself, I can’t taste this any place except this one place north of Kansas City that has this grape growing there—and it tastes just like this. That uniqueness is what you hope for." - Doug Frost, Master Sommelier & Master of Wine
