Tickets: Contestant Entry Fee: 20.00 (includes 1 glass of wine.)
General Admissions: 15.00 includes chili samples from our contestants, a voting ballot for the people’s choice, and a complementally glass of wine! Tickets are non-refundable.
Fees and admission go towards prizes for winners!
Chili Entry Requirements: Anyone can enter!! Calling all home chefs and family chili chefs, this is the competition for you to shine!!!
An entry must consist of a minimum of 4 quarts/1 gallon of chili.
Winning: Contestants will be judged by a secret panel of experts on color, aroma, consistency, presentation, taste, and aftertaste.
Cash and Prizes will be awarded for Best Overall, Spiciest, and People/s Choice.
People’s choice winner will be determined by the guests of the winery (each guest will receive a voting ticket with ticket purchase).
Rules: 1. Chili must be made off-site, prepared, and handled in a sanitary manner.
2. Chili must be “ready to serve” when brought to the event and held at a safe temperature (above 140F) in your own crock pot.
3. Chili must be made from scratch -Cooking must begin with raw ingredients and spices -Canned beans and canned tomatoes ARE permitted -Commercial chili mixes/spices, canned chili, or kits are NOT allowed -All beans, pasta, and rice are approved for use -All styles of chili are welcome (Texas, vegetarian, etc.)
4. Please provide a list of ingredients and spices listed for allergy purposes (this is to display at your station. (Ingredients only. Amounts are not necessary)
5. Please provide serving crock pot and serving utensils (sample cups, spoons and napkins we will provide)
6. Set Up begins at 11:30. Serving begins at 12pm
