Evidence of winemaking in Greece, Georgia and Armenia go back more than 4,000 years. In the case of Georgia, some evidence suggests fermentation of grapes going back as far as 8,000 years! As these countries continue to produce quality and interesting wines today it is fair to say that they play an increasingly significant role in the world of wine. All three countries are known for working with unique native varietals, some of which are not grown anywhere else. Another common theme is to combine traditional practices with modern ones, which produces a range of wine styles.

Join us at this seminar for an exciting opportunity to taste an incredible lineup of 9 wines, and to learn about the history and winemaking practices behind them.

Here is the lineup:

  • Askaneli Brothers Dora Saperavi Kvareli 2017 (Georgia)
  • Askaneli Brothers Pkatsiteli Qvevri 2016 (Georgia)
  • Saperavi from Mukuzani (Georgia)
  • Kir Yianni Cuvee Villages Naoussa Xinomavro 2017 (Greece)
  • Tselepos Canava Chrissou Vieilles Vigne Assyrtiko Santorini 2019 (Greece)
  • Tselepos Driopi Nemea Classic 2016 (Greece)
  • Zulal Voskehat (Armenia, white)
  • Zulal Areni (Armenia, red)
  • Shofer Rosé (Armenia)

This class is perfect for beginner and intermediate students, and those who love the history of wine (In other words, everyone!). The educator for this class is Nicole Ramos, WSET Level 3 certified.
