Local Event
The Food for Thought Campaign is a nationwide grassroot event designed to bring awareness, education and to raise funds for a much-needed cure for FTD. This is our 10th annual Food for Thought Event. Often misdiagnosed, FTD is the most common form of dementia for individuals under the age 60. As stated on 60 MINUTES - FTD is the most horrible disease you have never heard of. Five members of the Walter family have died from FTD. Three brothers, participated in research that helped lead to the discovery of the C9orf72 gene. This is the same gene that causes genetic ALS. And now because of this discovery, research is getting close to finding a cure for both FTD and ALS. Awareness, donations, and support from the community does make a huge difference. So, join us for an afternoon of wine tasting from 8 different wineries, tequila from Big Boy, desserts from Sugar Cake Company, and wonderful appetizers. In addition, we have great silent auction items – trips, arts, and more, plus raffle prizes that include certificates for more wine tastings, golf, and much much more. AFTD Charitable ID is 41-2073220
