We can't say this loudly or firmly enough: you do not want to miss the chance to meet Sophia Bergqvist and get to know the exciting sweet and dry wines of Portugal's Quinta de la Rosa. Sophia and her father, Tim, and brother, Philip, make a terrific set of Ports, ranging from the finest Ruby Port we've ever encountered to succulent Tawny Ports and majestic Vintage Port bottlings. See the 7 wines we’ll be tasting (including Ports and Dry reds and whites) here and sign-up today!
But Quinta de la Rosa is about so much more than Port! The Bergqvist family was among the earliest proponents of dry wines from the Douro Valley, and their dry white and red table wines will delight you with their richness, verve, and power. We'll pour:
While Quinta de la Rosa flies under the radar of many critics, the Bergqvist family has been making great wine here for more than 100 years. And ever since the estate was given as a christening present for Claire Feueheerd, Sophia’s grandmother, in 1906, they’ve been one of the few Port houses to work only with their own, estate-grown, fruit.
So whether you’re looking for some of the best sweet Port values we’ve seen in years or looking to try some bold (and great value, too!) dry Douro Valley wines, this is a great opportunity! You can reserve your places online at www.cbcwine.com or by emailing wineteam@cbcwine.com or calling the store at 703.356.6500.
