Attendees will learn about the History of the Sherry Region, Vineyards & Grapes, Aging Methods via the Solera System, & Influence of the Bodega while tasting and discussing these very unique wines:

2016 Tosca Cerrada Mosto - By Mario Rovira of Akilia fame, this wine comes from different plots with the soil formation "Lentejuela" near Sanlucar, shows the greatest possible subtlety, but also the finest freshness of the range. Dried fruits, oyster peel, dried herbs, almond notes, porcini mushrooms and salt butter. Super mineral and delicate. Aged 15 months under flor in an old Manzanilla barrel. Unadorned, not stabilized and filled without filtration "en Rama". Only 400 bottles.

Manzanilla 8/41, Alexander Jules - Selected from 8 of the 41 Barrels within the microclimates of the Maruja solera, housed in Juan Piñero's La Playilla de la Red bodega. 8-9 years average age. From the famed Sanlucar Pago (vineyard) del Hornillo. Only 1,000 500ml bottles.

Fino 9/65, Alexander Jules - A selection of flor yeasts as much as a barrel selection. 9-10 years average age, from two of the most revered vineyards in Jerez, Pago Macharnudo and Pago Añina. A very pungent, mature, saline Fino. Only 1,000 500ml bottles.

Amontillado 3/10, Alexander Jules - Blended from three barrels in two 5 barrel clases within the 16 scales between Juan Piñero’s Maruja Manzanilla solera and Amontillado solera. 18 years average age, but due to the solera management, showing more like a 12-15 year old, it has aromatics of orange, spice, fresh butter and is bright, saline and long. Only 1,000 375ml bottles.

Palo Cortado, Tradicion VORS - 32 years average age. Palo Cortado is the rarest dry-wine style and exhibits characteristics of both Amontillado and Oloroso, in its perfume and body. Only 1,400 bottles.

Oloroso Emperatriz Eugenia, Lustau - Aged for 15-20 years in Jerez de la Frontera. Since the foundation of its Solera by Mr. Emilio Lustau in 1921 to commemorate the visit to Jerez of Eugenia de Montijo, the last Empress of France. Dark gold in color with khaki hues. Penetrating aromas of noble woods, varnish and nuts with a great concentration. A rich and mellow wine, with immense flavours of smoky wood, of prunes and bitter chocolate. Complex and ample on the palate, smooth and warming with a lingering aftertaste.
