A dinner celebration of Diversity in Wine. Urban Connoisseurs is hosting 4 amazing women winemakers and an chef for one evening.

Urban Connoisseurs Founder, Marcia Jones is back with Executive Chef and Osteria la Spiga co-owner, Sabrina Tinsley for our 4th Annual (and 2nd time in Seattle) Women in Wine Celebration Dinner.

MEET THE WINEMAKERS

Nicole Camp, winemaker, LaShelle Wines, Woodinville, WA. Nicole Camp is one of only 2 Black Female winemakers in Washington state. LaShelle wines is a small hand-crafted winery located in the heart of Woodinville’s Warehouse District. Nicole opened her winery the summer of 2021, and is creating some of the best quality wines in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Her passion is for family, fun and creating lasting memories.

Paula Harrell, winemaker and owner, P. Harrell Wines, San Francisco, CA. Paula is the daughter of an immigrant mother from Panama, who met and married her Oklahoma-born, father in San Francisco. “My wines are an overall tribute to my family’s legacy, its dedication to community, friendship, cultural heritage & one another. And in paying homage I have named my first wines after residences and properties of ours in San Francisco that hold special meaning to me”

Kim Lewis, winemaker and owner, Ole' Oreleans Wines, New Orleans, LA. “Wine is wonderful,” says Kim Lewis. It brings people together, gives them things to talk about, and can create memories. Since 2018, she and the winery staff have been offering a wide variety of wines for all budgets. The winery saw unexpectedly high demand during the COVID pandemic, an opportunity that Kim Lewis seized upon and used to establish agreements with various retailers and distributors. Today, Ole’ Orleans Wines ships to more than 35 states and there are retail distribution deals with eight states. The company currently has 18 releases, including 12 for retail customers and six exclusively for wine club members.

Victoria Coleman, winemaker, Lobo Wines, Napa Valley, CA. Victoria, a Seattle native, is a graduate of the UC Davis enology program and began her winemaking journey at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars as a production assistant. She returned to the Napa Valley after a stint at Jade Valley Winery near Xian, China, consulting with new wineries there as well. Victoria was exposed to classic, Old World winemaking in 2008 when she worked alongside Erick Tourbier at first-growth Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux, France. She is one of Napa's award-winning winemakers. Victoria has produced the Cabernets at Lobo Wines since 2008 and now crafts all of their red wines as well as theirr rosé. This year marks her 15th vintage for Lobo wines.

MEET THE CHEF

Executive Chef, Sabrina Tinsley, co-owner of Osteria La Spiga, Seattle. Sabrina has taken her Verdun lineage, Louisiana heritage, and combined it with her love of Italy. She and her husband established Osteria La Spiga to bring authentic Italian cuisine to the Pacific Northwest. Her ability to taste the flavor profile in wines, and create cuisine specific dishes is what excites us about this evening event!

Once again, Urban Connoisseurs Founder, Marcia Jones, has created the Perfect Blend! The Mission of Urban Connoisseurs is the connect the Black winemakers to the wine connoisseurs. We do this primarily by creating wine events and blending the experience with some amazing chefs!
