We are thrilled to be bringing the 11th Anniversary Garagiste Festival back to downtown Paso Robles. Discover and taste amazing, cutting edge wines from over 50 high-quality, micro-production, commercial winemakers.

Most of these excellent, but hard-to-find, artisans do not have tasting rooms, and can’t be found on “wine country” maps. Many sell out their wines quickly to their allocation lists. The Garagiste Festival gives you the opportunity to get in on the ground floor and meet these winemakers in person as they share their wines and their stories.

The day begins by bringing back one of the most popular features of the Garagiste Festivals, it’s our engaging, educational and unique winemaker panel and tasting seminar. 

The seminar is only available as part of the VIP All-Day and Weekend Pass tickets, which also includes a Wine Country Box Lunch* from local favorite Jeffrys BBQ, early access to the Grand Tasting (at 1pm) and entry into the After Party.

The Many Sides of Syrah: A Deep Dive into this Classic Grape 

Most grapes varieties thrive in just one type of climate. Zin likes heat, Pinot needs it cool, and so on. Syrah on the other hand, can thrive in diverse climactic and soil types, and expresses very differently as a result. From dark and viscous in in warmer climes, to bright and lively in cool regions, Syrah has a range few other grapes can match.

That range is why it is often called a “winemaker's grape” and even our own Garagistes can't resist its siren call. It's also one of the most popular red varietals grown in Paso, so we decided to shine the spotlight on this amazing grape and taste what makes it so special. This panel will explore Syrah’s wide range of flavors and styles by introducing attendees to three Central Coast winemakers who will share their knowledge of and passion for Syrah, along with a few tastes of their award-winning wines. A fun and educational way to see what this grape brings to to the glass.
