Course Schedule

  • Class Dates (Zoom): Tuesdays, January 20, 27, February 10
  • Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm ET
  • Virtual Mock Exam: Tuesday, February 17, 2026
  • Final Exam: Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 11:30am (in-person at Capital Wine School) 1 hour closed-book examination made up of open-response questions


Course Content

This unit covers:


  • The types of businesses engaged in wine production and the options for getting wine to the point of sale
  • Factors that contribute to the price of wine
  • Key considerations in wine marketing


Eligibility

  • Open to existing Diploma students only
  • Candidates must have taken the Unit D1: Wine Production exam before attempting this exam
  • Enrollment in the WSET Diploma program is valid for three years. Candidates who have not passed all six units by the end of their three-year term must re-register for another three-year term in order to continue. If you are unsure when your term expires, please email info@capitalwineschool.com before registering.


Important:

  • No wine samples are included with this course (no tasting instruction).
  • All Diploma study materials are available online only (no physical booklets).
  • In addition to the guided learning hours/classroom time offered in this course, the WSET recommends a minimum of 40 hours of private study time for this unit.
  • Zoom invitations are usually emailed the day before or the morning of the first class session.


Class Recordings

  • The Capital Wine School makes every effort to record each class and provide access for up to one week after the scheduled session.
  • Occasionally, technical issues may prevent recording. Refunds or concessions are not available in these cases.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to attend live whenever possible.

  • Each course requires a minimum number of registrations. If the minimum is not met, the course may be cancelled. Registered students will be notified promptly and offered rescheduling options or a full refund.
