Open to all, this 4-week online wine course allows anyone with an interest in wine to taste and learn in a practical, fun and informal way with Paula from WineUncorked. You don't need to have been on a wine tasting or wine course before or have any knowledge of wine.
During this online course you'll taste, learn and discuss wines made from various grape varieties and distinguish wines made in France, Australia and Rioja in Spain. You'll also learn the professional wine tasting technique to describe the flavours and aromas found in the glass, how the wine label can affect our buying and discover French sparkling wines that aren't champagne. At the end of this course you'll have the knowledge and confidence to choose and buy wines you enjoy.
This is a live and interactive course where you'll learn, sip and talk with other people who want to know more about wine. This isn't a sit and watch pre-recorded YouTube videos but a live course with experienced wine tutor and wine expert Paula Goddard who'll explain and demonstrate each topic in a simple and understandable way. They'll be time for you to ask questions and be asked questions on what you are tasting, seeing and understanding.
As well as a new topic each week Paula will also highlight another wine as her Wine of The Week and explain why it tastes great and where to buy it.
This course is for anyone with an interest in wine. Learners from all backgrounds and abilities, regardless of your experience, will benefit from this course. A certificate and electronic badge will be issued to you on completion of the course.
Learners will need to purchase the two wines to be covered at each session and should expect to spend between £5 and £12 a bottle. A list of suggested wines will be provided along with places to purchase - both online and locally.
For the first session you'll need to bring along two wines if you can - a white wine from Australia and a red wine from Australia. They can be made from any grape variety – the choice is yours!
