Florida Wine Academy is an Approved Course Provider for the Sake Sommelier Association. We are very proud to offer, for the Certified Sake Sommelier course in a live, interactive Webinar format.
– Course delivery will be live, via Webinar, and students will still have the chance to ask questions and receive answers in real time;
– Dates: April 12, 19, 26, 2021, from 6pm to 8.30pm. Sessions will be recorded. The exam will be on May 1st, 2021 at Florida Wine Academy in Miami;
– You will need access to a reliable internet connection on a PC or Mac. The software connection will be provided by us via Zoom, and students will receive a dedicated webinar passcode that will enable them to join the private session;
– A guided tasting tutorial will still be given. Students will have the opportunity to purchase the recommended tasting samples from 305wines.com. Purchase of the Sakes is not a requirement for participating, although extremely helpful.

A test will be given on May 1st, 2021. On successful completion of the course, you’ll be presented with an official SSA certificate and lapel pin, qualifying you as a Certified Sake Sommelier.
With the knowledge acquired during the course, you should be comfortable conducting in-house sake training and educational programmes to the public and the beverage industry.
The educator for this course is Guilherme de Macedo. Mr. Macedo is a Master Sake Sommelier and a Sake Educator by the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA). He is a Japanese Sake Adviser, International Kikisake-shi by the SSI (Sake Service Institute), and Certified Sake Professional (CSP) by SEC, USA. He has the WSET Level 3 in Sake certification, a WSET Certified Sake Educator and has travelled extensively to Japan.
Mr. Macedo is also a Certified Sake Professional by the Sake Education Council, having studied with John Gaunter. Additionally, Mr. Macedo has the WSET Level 1 in Spirits, Court of Master Sommelier Level 1 and passed the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits with distinction.
