Saturday, 8/22/20 Bloomy Rind Cheeses with Sparkling Wines

The difference between Brie and Camembert, Double Cream and Triple Cream Cheeses and how to pair them with Bubbly.


Come and learn with Chef Cynthia who will be conducting an hour Zoom webinar at 6:00 pm Saturday August 22. You’ll partake in specially selected cheeses and Chef Cynthia’s perfectly paired condiments made from local produce. You’ll learn how to properly taste the different cream levels in cheeses and the difference between Brie and Camembert.

Chef Cynthia Bloebaum is a seasoned chef, cheese maven and WSET 3, and will share wine information and pairing tips. Feel free to indulge in all the cheesy goodness while absorbing all Chef Cynthia’s great information. Don’t worry, we’ll make time for Q&A, or if anyone wants to share info about the wine they have chosen.

Each Old School Cheese Party Kit includes2 ounces each of 5 different cheeses (Plenty for 2!)

Goat Brie, Brie de Nangis, Camembert, Double Cream Brie, Triple Cream Explorateur ~ specific cheeses depend on availability

3 different 2 ounce containers of Chef Cynthia’s Old School Jams: white peach and white nectarine jam; apricot curry mustard, rosé and rose jelly


1 2.5 oz package of black rice crackers


1 4 oz container of smoked salmon paté OR 1 4 oz container of smoked eggplant/white bean spread. This is the only item that can be chosen; Chef Cynthia will accommodate her vegetarian friends or those that feel that the cheese is enough richness.


The total cost for everything that’s included in the party kit and Chef Cynthia’s instruction is $70.00 + tax, and Chef Cynthia will deliver! The $10.00 fee will be added to your LWE payment.You can also opt to pick up your Party Kit from Chef Cynthia in Oakland.All orders must be placed and paid for by Monday 8/17, with personal deliveries on Wednesday 8/19 and Thursday 8/20. Chef Cynthia will give you wine information and the Zoom codes after registration is confirmed.
