Greece: A Renaissance Of Wine
Wed, October 3, 2018 (6:30 PM - 9:00 PM)
Cost: 91
Last May, I led 2 tours to Greece. One was the mainland, from Thessaloniki in the North to Athens and Nemea in the South; and another to the islands of Santorini and Crete.
This was our second tour to Greece and what a difference 8 years made!
Greece is no longer just your grandfather's Retsina. We experienced many outstanding whites and reds, many of which are still not exported to the US.
I'm positive that will change but meanwhile here's your opportunity to experience some of the finest wines made in Greece, including a wine from what I consider Greece's top winery.
This limited seating event can accommodate only 12 lucky wine lovers so please reserve ASAP.
Our venue is a new Greek restaurant in Downtown New Haven: Kalimera. Chef/owner Evangelos Topalidis hails from Thessaloniki but has a wealth of experience in restaurants in Europe, Asia and North Africa. His goal in Kalimera is to offer authentic Greek cuisine and we love the menu he created exclusively for us.
