Join Master Sommelier Serafin Alvarado and other Chicago Masters in this intensive one-day Deductive Tasting Method Workshop offering the opportunity to taste examples of classic wines from around the world. The workshop will focus on “cause and effect” analysis of each wine, which will help students understand why classic wines taste the way they do. Themed flights of wine have been put together to help calibrate the student’s palate to varying levels of alcohol, acidity, oak, and tannin, as well as define regional and varietal markers. It is the policy of the Court of Master Sommeliers that everyone, without exception, must have passed the Introductory Sommelier Course & Exam prior to sitting the Tasting Workshop.
The Court will also be conducting the Certified Sommelier Examination on March 31st at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago. For more information visit https://www.mastersommeliers.org/courses/list/certified-exam-chicago-il-3.
