LOCATION & PHONE
Wine Vault & Bistro is located in the heart of San Diego between Little Italy and Old Town at 3731-A India Street on the upstairs terrace. Follow the black handrail up the stairs from the sidewalk to our front door. Our phone number is (619) 295-3939.

PARKING ~ FREE & PAID
Valet parking is available for $8.00. The drop-off point is two doors south of our entrance in front of Shakespeare at the corner of India and Winder. On-street parking is also usually available within a 3-block radius. Remember that it’s OK to park in yellow commercial zones after 6:00 and that meters are also free after 6:00. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always lots of parking on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's tons of parking less than three blocks away!

WINE NOTES & BOTTLE PRICES
2016 Landmark Vineyards "Overlook" Pinot Noir ~ $20
(Sonoma County) Winemaker's Notes: Medium purple ruby color, with a medley of black and red cherry, ripe pomegranate, attractive baking spice with a crushed pink peppercorn accent. The palate is medium to full-bodied, fresh and lively with muddled strawberry, cherry and cola on entry with wild berried, rhubarb and a hint of sassafras toward the mid palate. The finish shows sustained dark fruit and spice wrapped in silky tannins with a barely perceivable suggestion of lemon zest. Pair with a pork loin and cherry reduction, the 2017 Overlook Pinot Noir is also complimented by rich, triple cream cheeses such as Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam.

2012 Saxon Brown "Fighting Brothers Cuvée" Semillon ~ $17
(Sonoma County) Winemaker's Notes: Exotic notes of white peach, citrus blossom and fig permeate this incredibly lively, refreshing and food-friendly Semillon. The crisp, high-toned fruit flavors are beautifully supported by the wonderfully rich, slightly yeasty mouthfeel. The wine finishes with tremendous length and finesse, ending with a flourish of floral accents.

2018 Borsao Rosé ~ $9
(Spain) 100% Grenache. Winemaker's Notes: Red luminescent color with warm glows. Has a strong aroma of berries and sweets. Very young and fresh in the mouth, well balanced with its acidity, rich in floral nuances and spices.

2017 El Enemigo Chardonnay ~ $24
(Argentina) Review by James Suckling: 98 points and #21 of Top 100 wines of 2019. A tight and beautiful white with a dense palate of ripe lemons and apples. Layered and refined with phenolic tension. Complex yeast and hints of oak and flor. Full body. Great length. 80 percent flor-growth in barrel.

2008 Saxon Brown "Parmalee Hill Camp Block" Syrah ~ $30
(Sonoma Coast) Winemaker's Notes: Very dark and dense color; Cassis, blackberry, plum, slight licorice and latex, black current, sweet cigar tobacco, with black olive. On the palate - richness and a concentration of sweet oak, leather and tobacco on a layer off dry tannins. This wine will age up to 15-20 years, but why wait – They’ll make more.

2017 Tres Picos Garnacha ~ $17
(Spain) Winemaker's Notes: Very intense cherry red colour with tones of purple. Presents in the nose a great concentration of aromas of ripe red fruit with floral nuances. In the mouth, it is a well structured rich wine that evokes tastes of blackberry, plum and tones of leather and vanilla, with a soft and silky tannin.

Cuarenta y Tres "Licor 43" Spanish Liqueur
(Spain) Warm, complex nose of upfront vanilla followed by tangy sweet fruit, spices and dark rum. The palate is similar to the aroma with complex intermingling flavors of vanilla, spices, orange and cinnamon. Ends with a flavor similar to fine aged rum only sweeter. 62 proof.

NV Yalumba Antique Tawny (375ml) ~ $19
(Australia) Winemaker's Notes: This outstanding old dessert wine is deep tawny in color, with an aroma featuring dried fruits, caramel and spices with elegant brandy spirit and hints of wood aged rancio. The palate is richly flavored featuring chocolate and caramel with fine spirit characters and persistent aftertaste of dried fruits and nutty nuances. The texture is sweet and smooth with roundness from the wood maturation and brandy spirit filling out the middle palate and providing the firm, drying finish.

2014 Margerum "Late Harvest" Sauvignon Blanc ~ $24
(Santa Barbara County) Winemaker's Notes: Nose of juicy fruit, honey and ripe melon. Pleasantly sweet yet not cloying attack of more ripe fruit nicely balanced with rich Meyer lemon acidity in the evolution and long finish. Will age gracefully through 2020 developing nectar-like aromatics and becoming richer and even more honeyed. A well balanced dessert wine that pairs well with fruit salad, custardy desserts like crème brûlée, or salty cheeses.
