We will have a special guest from Spain to conduct our February pop up tasting. Simon Guiot, International Export Manager, represents Luis Canas and Valminor and the wines are stunning.
We’ll begin with Valminor Albariño which was awarded a Bronze Medal from Decanter World Wine Awards and 91 points from James Suckling. The cutting-edge winery Adegas Valmiñor, located in the Valley O Rosal within the D.O. Rías Baixas, was established in 1997 by Carlos Gómez.
The remaining four wines are from Bodegas Luis Cañas, one of the leading wineries and one of Rioja Alavasa’s oldest family-owned estates. In 1989 Juan Luis Cañas (grandson of the founder) took over operations of the 980 acres of vineyards, some with vines more than 100 years old. Sustainable farming practices are honored in the vineyards and small plot cultivation with low yields produce these high quality wines.

This will be a casual walk-about tasting so reservations are not required, just please call if you plan to bring a group. Cheeses, crackers and charcuterie will be served to complement the wines.
