Dom des Malandes Cuvee Envers de Valmur 2018 - The cuvee the estate used to call Tour du Roy is now named for it's fabulous site - abutting the back edge of Grand Cru Valmur. As always, this is essentially a 1er Cru-level wine, with 90/91 point ratings and a simply silly good price for the quality.
Dom des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey 2018 - Best we've tasted from these steep slopes in the Vau de Vey valley. As Wine Enthusiast says in their 93 point write-up, "The touch of wood aging has released the ripe, creamy texture and rich structure of this full-bodied wine. It is intense and mineral, with delicious potential and good acidity at the end."
Dom des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume VV 2018 - Always a bit richer and creamier-feeling than Malandes other 1er Crus, in 2018 the old vines here pack in plenty of mineral punch, too. As Vinous says in their 92 point review, "Creamy and enveloping the Fourchaume shows the Malandes style at its best."
Dom des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu 2018 - Always the most intense, pure, and “Chablis” of the 1er Crus here and shining more brightly than ever in 2018. "It is bright, racy and lifted, with terrific energy, persistence and cut," says Vinous in the 92 point review.
Jonata The Paring Red 2015 - From the owners of Napa’s Screaming Eagle, this is California Cabernet luxury at a very attractive everyday price. The double 92-point ratings don’t overstate just how delicious this ripe but nicely structured red is now and over the next few years.
