Several fun and illuminating exercises will illustrate the basic concepts behind the S's of wine tasting and appreciation. For example, does color influence our perception of flavor? How important is aroma to our perception of flavor? Do we all have the same sensitivity to components of taste such as sweetness, acidity or bitterness? Once we understand a little bit about how we taste, we'll go on to explore a selection of Finger Lakes wines artfully paired with local foods. Or are these scientifically paired?
