The Dorian Restaurant to Host a Tipsy Tea Party
The Dorian in San Francisco's Marina District will host a Tipsy Tea Party on Sunday, February 23 from noon to 4:00 p.m. This spiked spin on a time-honored tradition will afford guests the opportunity to enjoy tea-infused cocktails featuring the spirits of three local women proprietors: Carin Luna-Ostraseski of SIA Scotch, Absinthia Vermut of Absinthia, and Kiki Braverman of Pur Spirits. They will share stories and socialize, with everyone partaking of sweet and savory fare. A ticket, priced at $25.00, includes admission, one drink and light bites and can be obtained via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tipsy-tea-party-tickets-90021808653.
A neighborhood supper club serving modern American fare and intriguing cocktails, The Dorian is an ode to a bygone era, a modern-day parlor for bohemians, libertines and freethinkers – a place where Oscar Wilde might have dropped in for a drink or Jerry Thomas would have tended bar. The restaurant’s robust beverage program features a mix of classic, contemporary and original offerings including hand-crafted martinis and an extensive array of whiskeys. Among the fifty or so wines by the bottle are both domestic and imported vintages. Locally sourced craft beers are also poured.
The Dorian evokes a Victorian home at the turn of the last century with rich colors and textural wallpapers, mixed with brass and concrete surfaces. Built in-panels with hand-sourced antique artifacts and art, and a chandelier all bring a sense of charm and fun to the restaurants three distinct spaces. The main bar area, with brass accents and a teal color scheme, is anchored by a prominent whiskey display while upstairs, the study incorporates leather and dark wood.
The Dorian is located at 2001 Chestnut Street, at the corner of Fillmore Street, in San Francisco, California. The restaurant serves dinner Tuesday through Sunday and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Specific hours of operation, special features and news are available on the restaurant’s web site, www.doriansf.com, and by following @thedoriansf on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Reservations are accepted online via the website, through OpenTable.com, and by calling (415) 814-2671.
