Educational     Tasting (sit down)     Wine

Ever go on a foreign vacation and wanted to order a glass of wine in the native tongue? Never before done at City Winery, enjoy a 30-minute language instruction course followed by an hour and a half wine class. We’ll guide you through the basics of wine with an interactive, geeky, ‘research’ intensive wine course. Much tasting and wine discussion. All the fun of wine, with a side of education. Practical knowledge. And, most importantly, developing your palate, your wine vocabulary, and sharpening your tasting skills. We’ll share professional tips on what you really need to know about deductive wine tasting, as well as how to translate your wine tasting savvy in the real world. Good times, wine friends. Come on over and get educated!

Course 3 : City Winery Wine School - Intro to the Greek Language and the Wines of Greece

Third in the series featuring Greek and the wines of Greece!

Take your taste buds on a journey to Greece. Here at City Winery Chicago we feel one of the best ways to learn about a country is through its language (and of course through its wine). Join us for an introduction to Greek followed by a guided wine tasting. Transport yourself to Europe through this interactive course. Chat, interact, taste, and enjoy all of what this abundant wine-growing region has to offer.

The third course will be taught by dear friends of City Winery, Spyridon Alexopoulos and Andreas Pastos. Both with a background in hospitality and fluent in Greek, their passion for Greek wine and culture is only surpassed by their enthusiasm to share it with others.
Light cheese and charcuterie will be served.
