St Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux Tasting
featuring
Matthieu Cuvelier, Proprietor and Director of Clos Fourtet
Sigel’s #94 (3206 N Fitzhugh) Tuesday, January 21st 4:30-6pm
“This property has been on fire, qualitatively speaking, for well over a decade. Another compelling effort from the Cuvelier family” Robert Parker
“Clos Fourtet is stunningly beautiful and utterly compelling. This is a tremendous showing from proprietor Matthieu Cuvelier and consulting winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt.” James Suckling
Relative newcomers in Bordeaux, the Cuvelier family has quickly become one of the qualitative leaders in St Emilion since their purchase of Clos Fourtet in 2001. Allied with consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and employing principles of bio-dynamism in viticulture and winemaking, the wines have gone from strength to strength and now represent some of the fines production and best value coming from this classic appellation. Join us on Tuesday, January 21st at Sigel’s-Fitzhugh from 4:30- 6pm as we welcome Matthieu Cuvelier, Director of Ch. Clos Fourtet. Matthieu will lead us through a tasting of the family’s estates in St Emilion, including Clos Fourtet, Cote de Baleau and Grandes Murailles – the smallest classified vineyard in the appellation. For more information about this free tasting please contact Jim Fleming at 214/635-3162 or store94wine@sigels.com.
