This was the very first course that I took when I started in the wine industry and it has taken me all over the world since then! The information that you learn is perfect wine enthusiasts that want to learn to understand European wine labels and how a Shiraz is different from a Syrah. Also great for professionals, wanting to deepen their wine knowledge and be able to speak intelligently about what they are selling to customers.

This is a 3 day course, with a review and exam on the 3rd day.

From WSET's Website:

WSET's Level 1 Award in Wines is a beginner level introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.

For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately, and make food and wine pairings. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

What you'll learn:
- How to taste and describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®(SAT)

The style and quality of wines:
