As the gateway between East and West, Eastern Europe has been largely defined by invasion, occupation and alliances despite thousands of years of winemaking. Uncover the hidden gems of Eastern Europe's wine scene in this in depth look at European wines with Soroca Imports owner- Brandon. Check it out!

1.Matic Kerner , Slovenia $14.99

Across between Riesling and Schiava, showcases beautiful floral notes and bright acidity.

2.Tchotiashvili Khikhvi Qveri, Georgia $24.99- The Wildcard!

Dry, amber wine aged in Qvevri(clay amphora). Well balanced with roasted nutty aromas in front both in palate and nose.

3.Vinarija Citluk Blatina, Bosnia&Herzegovina $19.99- Silvia’s Favorite!

Aromas of dark berry marmalade, a trace of vanilla, carob, roasted almonds, and chocolate. Noble, nicely developed, typical of the deep and warm lasting aroma, fruity and spicy character.

4.Chateau Vartely individo Cabernet/Merlot Blend, Moldova $14.99

This wine, aged for 12 months in barrels, has outstanding character, combining the richness of Cabernet Sauvignon and the velvety taste of Merlot.

5.Janko Zavet Red Blend, Serbia $29.99

Aromas of red and black berries, coffee, tea,and forest floor. Zavet is harmonious, perfectly balanced, with soft tannins and acidity, with a long final taste.

 

Wines will be accompanied by a selection of cheeses, crackers, canapes, artisan breads &olive oil. The cost for one flight (a sample of each of the wines) will be $17.
