Over the last several years we have seen growing interest and production in natural wines. Natural wines are farmed organically or biodynamically and made with little intervention by the winemaker. This means that very little is added or removed during the winemaking process. This results in wines that may look, smell and taste different than other wines, wines that are described by some as ‘living’. During this seminar we will discuss approaches to natural winemaking, and how the approaches in viticulture and viniculture differ from that of traditional wines. A selection of six natural wines from different countries will be shown to highlight the diversity and potential these unique wines have.
This class is perfect for beginner and intermediate students. The educator for this class is Nicole Ramos, WSET Level 3 certified.
