LOCATION & PHONE
Wine Vault & Bistro is located in the heart of San Diego between Little Italy and Old Town at 3731-A India Street on the upstairs terrace. Follow the black handrail up the stairs from the sidewalk to our front door. Our phone number is (619) 295-3939.

PARKING ~ FREE & PAID
Valet parking is available for $8.00. The drop-off point is two doors south of our entrance in front of Shakespeare at the corner of India and Winder. On-street parking is also usually available within a 3-block radius. Remember that it’s OK to park in yellow commercial zones after 6:00 and that meters are also free after 6:00. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always lots of parking on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's tons of parking less than three blocks away!

WINE NOTES & BOTTLE PRICES
2015 Treana Blanc ~ $21
(Central Coast) Winemaker's Notes: 45% Viognier, 45% Marsanne + 10% Roussanne. A stunning example of a new world Rhone blend with aromas and flavors of pineapple, dried apricot, peach and Clementine orange that combine with floral notes of honeysuckle and elderflower. Sweet notes of marzipan, honey, graham cracker along with cinnamon and vanilla round out this complex, full-bodied and racy wine.

2016 Foxen "Santa Maria Valley" Pinot Noir ~ $28
(Santa Maria Valley) Review by Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points. Lighter in the glass, this appellation blend shows pomegranate sorbet, cranberry skins, rose petals and wild herbs on the nose. The palate is crisp and tart with raspberry fruit that's lifted by chaparral spice and wild thyme.

2019 Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais Nouveau ~ $18
(France) Review by Wine Spectator: 100% Gamay Beaujolais. The first wine of the new vintage! Bright cherry and raspberry notes are interwoven with licorice drop, herb and white pepper accents in this light-bodied charmer. Subtle tannins offer some grip on the finish. Drink now.

2017 Stolpman "La Cuadrilla" Red Blend ~ $18
(Ballard Canyon) Winemaker's Notes: 55% Syrah, 27% Sangiovese + 18% Grenache. Dark and intense, this wine shows delicious suppleness through the palate.

2017 Journeyman Chardonnay ~ $48
(Russian River Valley) Winemaker's Notes: Flavors of orchard fruit, vibrant mineralogy, lemon ice box pie creamniness. Each lot is harvested dead of night and pressed off as the sun is coming up. All solids go into the tank, are mixed and then broken down into barrels. Zio Tony Chard is the one component that goes into our egg. Each barrel is stirred every day during fermentation, then stirred once a week and topped until it is thru aging and then is moved into the cave where it is then stirred and topped once every two weeks. It was bottled in Dec, and then released May 1. We source for the two highest acid sites in Russian River AVA.

2016 Bokisch Monastrell ~ $20
(Lodi) Winemaker's Notes: This is the first vintage of Monastrell from the Sheldon Hills Vineyard and the change is noteworthy! The terroir is Redding Gravelly Clay Loam and the Sloughhouse AVA gets warmer evenings which create a bigger, bolder Monastrell. This wine is super dark and full of earthy aromas, oiled leather and white pepper. It has gripping tannins with a full bodied texture ending with a bright acidity. Flavors of ripe fresh blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, and chocolate covered coffee beans end with hints of licorice. Pair with espresso rubbed filet mignon and wild mushroom sauce.

NV Yalumba Antique Tawny (375ml) ~ $19
(Australia) Winemaker's Notes: This outstanding old dessert wine is deep tawny in color, with an aroma featuring dried fruits, caramel and spices with elegant brandy spirit and hints of wood aged rancio. The palate is richly flavored featuring chocolate and caramel with fine spirit characters and persistent aftertaste of dried fruits and nutty nuances. The texture is sweet and smooth with roundness from the wood maturation and brandy spirit filling out the middle palate and providing the firm, drying finish.

2014 Margerum "Late Harvest" Sauvignon Blanc ~ $24
(Santa Barbara County) Winemaker's Notes: Nose of juicy fruit, honey and ripe melon. Pleasantly sweet yet not cloying attack of more ripe fruit nicely balanced with rich Meyer lemon acidity in the evolution and long finish. Will age gracefully through 2020 developing nectar-like aromatics and becoming richer and even more honeyed. A well balanced dessert wine that pairs well with fruit salad, custardy desserts like crème brûlée, or salty cheeses.

2018 Michele Chiarlo "Nivole" Moscato d'Asti ~ $23
(Italy) Winemaker's Notes: This sweet, fragrant, lightly sparkling wine has vivid aromas and flavors of peach, apricot, grapefruit and sage on a light body with a delicate finish typical of Moscato d’Asti. An excellent companion to fresh pastries and fruit such as strawberries and peaches.
