Why does one Cabernet Sauvignon cost $12 per bottle and another cost $100 per bottle? This evening will explore how the process, place, aging, size of production and viticulture all play a role in the final cost of a bottle of wine. Hosted by Ray’s Wine and Spirits own Scott Smits, he samples thousands of wines each year and determines where our favorites end up on the floor of Ray’s. We will serve a pair each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, all sampled “blind”. One wine from each varietal pair will have a Suggested Retail of under $15 per bottle, with the other having a Suggested Retail of over $30 per bottle.
