Red wine blends are a popular choice for today’s wine shoppers. It’s a strange category, because most red wines are and have always been blends of more two or more grapes. Wines made with a single red variety are, in fact, a rarity. Saturday’s tasting includes five ‘red blends’ that have received professional reviewer scores of at least 90 points, which equates to Very Good to Outstanding.
