On Thursday November 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Scottsdale Gallery Association’s Gold Palette ArtWalk, located within the Scottsdale Arts District along Main Street from Scottsdale Road west to Goldwater Boulevard and on Marshall Way north of Indian School Road to Fifth Avenue, celebrates the City of Scottsdale’s Contemporary Month with its own Contemporary Focus ArtWalk featuring three temporary modern art installations.

 

The three temporary modern art installations incorporate the use of light and video to express the contemporary element definitive of exhibits throughout the Old Town Scottsdale area as part of the City’s Scottsdale Contemporary Month. One of the exhibits, located at the corner of Main Street and Marshall Way, showcases a five-foot dodecahedron with LED up-lighting by Digital Permaculture. The second is a short film by local artist Ronna Nemitz that will be projected onto the side of Paul Scott Gallery throughout the evening. The third installation is a large-scale video production by Kendra Sollars that will be presented on the side of Amery Bohling Fine Art gallery.

 

Individual galleries will also be hosting their own contemporary-focused events throughout the evening including:

 

Altamira Fine Art

7038 E. Main St.

From November 11 through 23, Altamira will display David Michael Slonim’s solo exhibition “Fragment of Song.” During the ArtWalk, Slonim will be present for a meet and greet and artist’s talk, and guests are invited to enjoy light bites and wine while viewing more than a dozen new abstract works.

 

Amery Bohling Fine Art

7100 E. Main St., #A

“The Arcadia Project” by Rose Nielsen will be on display showcasing modern western landscapes with an edgy perspective, and refreshments will be served during the during the ArtWalk.

 

Legacy Gallery

7077 E. Main St., #10

From November 14 to 17, Kyle Polzin’s “Grace & Grit” one man show will be on display with an artist’s reception on November 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Beginning on November 21, in conjunction with the Contemporary Focus ArtWalk, Tom Browning’s "Santa at Work and Play" will be featured with an artist’s reception from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 

Mainview Gallery

During the ArtWalk, Painter Alan Wolton and Sculptor Vala Ola will be onsite to visit with guests about their art. Wine and cheese will be served.

 

On the Edge Gallery

7050 E. 5th Ave.

Guests can meet and interact with contemporary artists Kenneth Naiff, who will be showcasing dark sky images of the universe; Jane Nassano, who will be displaying a diverse array of mixed media creations and Barbi Niblick, whose stunning selection of abstract acrylics and oils will be on exhibit for guests’ own modern interpretation.

 

The Fine Art of Southwest Style

The November show is “Animals with Attitude,” which will be on display throughout the month of November with a special reception on November 21 in conjunction with the Contemporary Focus ArtWalk.

 

Wilde Meyer Gallery

4142 N. Marshall Way

Peggy McGivern’s “Desert Soul” exhibit opens November 1 with a reception during the ArtWalk on November 21. The exhibit will remain on display through the end of the month.

 

Xanadu Gallery

7039 E. Main St., #101

Gallery artist Shalece Fiack will be showcasing her works during the ArtWalk and in-gallery to meet and greet with visitors. Fiack’s contemporary landscape paintings are bold and fresh, finding wonderful reception with collectors.

 

Each Gold Palette ArtWalk takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and presents the finest art in Old Town Scottsdale throughout 28 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the Scottsdale Gallery Association’s weekly Thursday evening ArtWalks, presented in partnership with the City of Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Arts District offers free trolley rides to various restaurants, museums, galleries and more throughout Old Town Scottsdale.
