Rococo Wines began in the summer of 2016 when Natalie Brown visited the Los Alamos Vineyard for the first time in search of cool weather Syrah but stumbled instead upon a hidden treasure. The vineyard, nestled between the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez valleys, still has 3 remaining acres of 40 year-old own-rooted Chenin Blanc. The name Rococo is inspired by the flourishes of the Rococo art movement that followed the strict Baroque period. Rococo exemplifies Natalie’s philosophy that wine should be playful and expressive. For the inaugural 2016 vintage, she focused on a single varietal: Chenin Blanc. In 2017, a small batch of Viognier was added into the fold and a single red blend, Whole Cluster, was produced.
