Tobias Zingerle, CEO of Kelleri Kaltern, will be joining us on the 19th to lead a tasting of his fantastic wines from the Alto Adige in Italy. Part of the Tre Venezie in Northeast Italy, Alto Adige is one of Italy's more unique regions for wines due to the fact that before 1919 it was part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire (or the Empire's predecessors, the Austrian Empire & the Holy Roman Empire). That background means that the wines from Alto Adige tend to not use "typical" Italian grapes, instead you commonly find grapes more typically associated with Austria and Central Europe.
