Celebrate Spätlese: an open house style gallery stroll and wine tasting which will immerse guests in the flavors, colors, and textures of the late harvest. Spätlese features live artist demonstrations and wine tasting lead by a local wine expert. Guests will also be treated to artisan bites featuring goods from the J. Petter Wine Gallery shop. Live music for the event features local musicians Jay Bertalan and Richard Beelen.
Featured artists include John Andersen, Larry Welo, Michael Maitner, Linda Rzoska, Julie Quinn, and James Griffin.
The event is titled Spätlese speaking to the sweetness of the autumnal season. Spätlese literally meaning, “late harvest” is the German term for a wine produced from fully ripened grapes. The grapes are harvested at least seven days after the normal harvest giving the grapes time to lose moisture and allow the sugar levels to rise. The resulting wine is seductive, sweet, and balanced. Our featured artists each embody the elegance and patience of the autumn season in their work. Through color, subject, and sense of place the experience of the harvest season is celebrated. Join us for an afternoon celebrating natures bounty.
