Vacation/Tour

A refreshing change of pace, Castle life encourages Guests to find the royalty in being present. Situated within the remote hilltop village of Roccalvecce, this stately structure is the perfect home base for all the experiences we provide during a curated, week~long adventure. We recommend staying in Rome at least one night on either side of the IVW week as a way to ease into & out of the Italian Village lifestyle. ~ Discounted Price based on double occupancy ~ Minimum of 6 people required for trip to operate ~ All meals to be enjoyed at the Castle or a Local Trattoria

Day of Arrival

Day 1

Begin the journey by meeting the IVW Coach / Passenger Van at Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome between 10:00 & 11:00 in the morning. Snacks are provided on the drive into The Village, where we’ll eat lunch upon arrival. Take time to settle into the accommodations and freshen up before meeting for the welcome reception & orientation. Next, take a few hours to relax; walk in the gardens, dip in the pool, take a nap, put your socks into drawers, etc. When chill time is over, a local multi~course dinner with local wine is served by The Castle Chef {also local}. Get to know the others in the group very well as pasta hangs off their wine-stained lips mid~conversation. Saunter up to bed for a solid night’s rest.

Excursion ~ Old Celleno Walk and Relaxation ~ Home~Style Gelato Parlor

Day 2

Walk through the countryside from one village top to the next. Hear stories of the village while sampling fresh local products by the Orsini Castle with stunning views. Be prepared to trek a few miles.

Select scoops of homemade old~style gelato while learning about the process of how it’s made. Go ahead, try every flavor.

Relaxation ~ Thermal Hot Springs

Day 3

Known for their healing properties, natural hot springs are a popular way to relax for Italians, so we keep an eye on the most private time slots across multiple locations.

Excursion ~ Valley of the Badlands

Day 4

Walk through the lush ravine and explore private flower and vegetable gardens before joining the truffle hunters and their dog in the chestnut groves of the Calanchi Valley. Afterwards enjoy the tasty truffles along with an array of the local savories and wine.

Excursion ~ Shepherd's Walk and Organic Olive Oil Producer

Day 5

We'll take a walk through pastures to meet the shepherds and watch as fresh sheep milk transforms into cheese over an open flame. Taste on warm bread with prosciutto & wine.

As the day cools off, we’ll stroll among trees in a local organic olive orchard. Take the opportunity to speak to the owners about their process before tasting their various oils. Head back to The Castle to freshen up.

Excursion ~ Market to Table and Relaxation ~ Acoustic Feast

Day 6

Guided by a village chef, learn to navigate Italian markets, to make an authentic meal, and to pair wines.

A few hours to rest back at The Castle is well deserved. For those who want to play, we have unique games and activities available. Finally, freshen up for a farewell dinner in the Castle Salon. A local musician strums Italian music while conversation and wine flow generously.

Day of Departure

Day 7

A send~off breakfast is served before allowing time to pack everything up. While waiting for departure, bid farewell to The Castle and The Village. The IVW Coach will leave for Leonardo Da Vinci Airport at eleven in the morning. Sandwiches and snacks will be provided on the ride back into Rome. We recommend spending the night in Rome to ease the transition back into modern society. A life reintegration guide will be provided at no extra charge.
