For 26 years, the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance has hosted the Calaveras Grape Stomp and Harvest Celebration. The event takes place the first Saturday in October and is held at the Murphys Community Park. Each year, teams from all over the state get their costumes ready, decide who will be the stomper and who will be the swabber then head to Murphys, CA to compete for the championship title.
This year's event is set to take place on Saturday, October 5th 9:00-5:00 at Murphys Community Park. Attendees can join the event for free and stomp teams of two can compete for $80 with an online registration - limited to first 120 team! Local wines, BBQ and wood-fire pizza will be sold at the park along with food booths and beer booths at the street fair. Live music, photo booth fun, kids activities and more. NEW Auction Prizes have been added to the lineup this year including a trip to Honolulu, outdoor adventure packages and winery experiences. This annual fundraising event provides scholarships to high school students, benefits Feeney Park, the Wine Information Center and other community organizations.
The Grape Stomp Competition is open to the first 120 teams to register by September 25th! Visitors are welcome to watch the grape stomp competition and enjoy the street faire with free admission.
