Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County (CIS-GTC) has evolved its popular fall fund-raiser to create a new event that will directly address the social, emotional, mental health and basic service needs of local students. The event will feature Professional Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith as the keynote speaker; as well as dinner, wine, and dancing to Trey & the Tritones; a liquor pull; raffle and silent auction. The fund-raiser will be held Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 pm at Ridglea Country Club. Tickets start at $250 per person, and limited sponsorships remain, including meet and greet with Emmitt Smith. CIS-GTC is a non-profit that is part of a national network of CIS programs serving more than 1.2 million students. Currently CIS-GTC is in 53 North Texas schools, helping students who are identified by their schools as most “at-risk” to drop out. CIS-GTC serves the following independent school districts: Azle, Burleson, Crowley, Everman, Fort Worth, Granbury, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, IDEA, Keller, Kennedale and Lake Worth.
