Argentina & Friends Lab: Great Wines Of South America
Wed, September 18, 2019 (6:30 PM - 8:30 PM)
Cost: 65.00
Winemaking arrived in the New World during the age of exploration, and made its way to South America via Mexico thanks to Spanish conquistadores in the 16th century. Current day winemaking is recognized for its quality and skilled production of both local and international varietals. During this Lab we will look closely at Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, tasting wines that represent both well-known international varietals and lesser-known local ones. During the class we will taste the following six wines:
- Leyda Garuma Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Chile
- Leyda Las Brisas Pinot Noir 2016 Chile
- Montes Alpha Carmenère 2016, Chile
- Bodegas Salentein Killka Torrontes 2015, Mendoza
- El Enemigo Malbec 2015, Mendoza
- Pizzorno Don Próspero Tanta 2016, Uruguay
Nicole Ramos WSET Level 3, FWS, will lead the class.
