A fine late-summer tasting this weekend as we roll out some exciting new “house wines” you’ll enjoy well into fall, feature a stunning, Vinous 93 point, Willamette Pinot Noir, and sprinkle in a few additional warm weather thirst quenchers. Joins us this Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday from noon-4pm to sample:
Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Rosé La Porte du Caillou 2018 - Our most popular Sancerre Rosé year-after-year is simply superb – perhaps best-ever – in Sancerre’s great 2018 vintage. The great $19.98 bottle and $17.98/ea case price is even more delightful!
Hatton Daniels Malvasia Bianca Ceccini Vyd 2018 - It's a bit mind-blowing to write, but the best-ever wine from this overlooked Italian grape comes from a young winemaker working in California's Contra Costa County. Aromatic, refreshing, and just 11.5% alcohol for maximum refreshment.
Fundamental Chardonnay California 2017 - The most delicious sub-$20 California Chard we’ve tasted in years, well deserving of its 91 point rating. Loaded with pear, Golden Delicious apple, and green and yellow citrus fruit, has a touch of rich salty caramel, and finishes with a juicy lemon/lime pop.
Fundamental California Red Blend 2017 – A stupid delicious blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Viognier that, as Jeb Dunnuck said in his 92 point review, “over-delivers” – especially from $14.98!
Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Estate 2014 – A glorious 93 point Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that’s entering the heart of its drinking window and promises another 6-7 years of delight and is marked down up to $18 off the $60 release price.
As always, we’ll have some treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and best prices available on a mix/match basis during the tasting. Come on down!
