The team at Harbor House is excited to feature the incredible wines of L’Aventure Winery from Paso Robles, California. We are honored to welcome back Chloé Asseo, the daughter of winemaker Stephan Asseo, for this unique wine dinner.
Stephan Asseo, originally from France, has become known for pushing the limits of wine-making. After making wine for 17 years in France, Stephan became tired of the French regulations, known as Appellation Controlée, which limited his desire to make creative blends. In 1997, Stephan and his wife Beatrice decided to move to California for a new adventure. After searching through Napa Valley and Sonoma, they stumbled upon Paso Robles where they fell in love with the area and terroir
The spirit of L'Aventure is most evident in Stephan's "Paso Blends", such as Optimus and Estate Cuvée. Both wines are Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon/Petit Verdot blends. In these wines, as well as in their Rhône blend Côte à Côte, the blending of premium varietals increases the authenticity, complexity, and balance of the wines.
Harbor House's Executive Chef John Korycki has created a four-course menu to pair with these highly-rated wines from California. Book your reservation fast to enjoy these West Coast wines paired with wonderful, fresh seafood and views of downtown and Lake Michigan.
